2006 - Montreal

I have one word to explain Montreal in the Winter - COLD. No, you don't understand cold like this. Butt ass cold, so cold that you can't feel your lips and you are afraid to open your mouth to talk because your tonsils will freeze and you will have to be rushed to the hospital where the ER doctor will hook you up to a heater and you will choke on the water that built up on your tonsils. I have a few suggestions though if you do find yourself in Montreal during January - take warm clothes, stay inside and consume large amounts of alcohol (you will need large amounts of money for the last one).
We tried to roam the city but we found that we needed to pop into stores, resto bars, and the metro to get warm. Montreal isn't Paris because you can't have an espresso with a glass of beer at 8:00 am. Hell, it was difficult to find a bar open at 5:00 p.m.
I will post more pictures in the coming days but I wanted to give you a glimpse of the cold. Snow and ice on the sidewalks made walking a bit tricky for some of us.
